Chapter 65: Fiends set up falsely the Small Thunderclap; The four pilgrims all meet a great ordeal.
In which Tripitaka faces the consequences of being too pious and others have to pay for it.
Hello everybody, sorry for the irregular posting schedule, I’m still getting settled at home, but pay it no mind and enjoy the chapters as they come!
“Like Wang Wei painting's the mountain's dark and light”:
“Tripitaka, too, was thus caught, and all three of them were then
firmly bound by ropes”: It’s shibari time.
“Disciple,” he said, “please rescue me quickly! Whatever happens hereafter I'll listen to you. I won't ever overrule you again”: Who wants to bet that next chapter he will do the same thing.
“Whereupon Gullet the Gold Dragon, Woman the Earth Bat, […] Star the Sun Horse, Spread the Moon Deer, Wing the Fire Serpent, and Axel tree the Water Earthworm led the Golden-Headed Guardian, the Silver-Headed Guardian, the Six Gods of Light and Darkness, the Guardians of Monasteries, Eight Rules, and Sha Monk to meet their pursuers. Abandoning the Tripitaka Tang and forsaking the white dragon horse, they rushed into battle, each with weapon in hand”: Tag yourself, I’m Star the Sun Horse.
Our heros have been trapped and bondaged…twice! And Sun Wukong despairs because this wouldn’t have happened if they listed to him.
See you in (hopefully) 3 days!
Love that the story takes a time out to explain what bats are
